Innovative Economy is the largest operational programme intended to support innovation in the broadest sense of the word. It allows for obtaining subsidies for targeted projects assuming implementation of research and development works results, investment projects (related to application of the latest technological solutions leading to launching of new products and services), projects anticipating enhancement of research and development works and development of new industrial designs, initiating joint undertakings on the Internet etc. Subsidy for implementation of projects under IE OP may be granted to enterprises and business-related institutions or scientific entities providing high-quality services to companies. Total public spending allocated for implementation of IE OP between 2007-2013 is about 9.7 billion EUR.[1]
